CHAN TZE LAW

Singaporean Conductor and Associate Professor Chan Tze Law is a founding faculty member and Vice Dean of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he established the Conservatory’s acclaimed large ensemble programme. He concurrently serves as Vice Dean of Students, overseeing the NUS Center for the Arts, where he architected the groundbreaking “Arts for All” framework - a university-wide initiative providing arts access to all NUS students.

Chan holds doctoral and bachelor’s degrees in conducting and a master’s degree in arts and cultural management, as well as qualifications in violin performance and teaching. At the Conservatory, he lectures on conducting and leadership, and has taught annually at the NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy’s Senior Management programme.

Widely recognized for his artistic leadership, Chan serves as music director of Singapore’s innovative Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and the award-winning Orchestra of the Music Makers. His concerts and recordings have gained international acclaim, with broadcasts on Australia’s ABC Classic FM and the UK’s BBC Radio 3, while being featured regularly on Singapore Airlines’ KrisWorld in-flight classical music selection, Apple Classical, YouTube, and Spotify.
